Last weekend I went to my first Killifish club meeting.
It was with the Chesapeake Area Killifish Club. Honestly, I was a bit concerned since it was out-of-state, hosted at a members house, and my knowledge of killies isn’t exactly extensive. Additionally, it’s always odd to be not only the youngest member of a club but the only woman in the room.
But I was pleasantly surprised to find that all my apprehensions were not only unwarranted but were utterly ridiculous. It was the best hobby meeting that I’ve been to thus far. The members there were extremely welcoming and accommodating. It was almost mesmerizing to hear everyone’s experiences and the willingness to share in amazing.
I left with a Rayfield pair and a newfound appreciation for my hobby and its members.
